Abstract
La presente invención describe y enseña nuevos métodos para convertir gas de síntesis gas de síntesis en etanol y/u otros alcoholes superiores. Las modalidades preferidas reciclan metanol, los convierten parcialmente a gas de síntesis, y luego convierten este gas de síntesis adicional también a alcoholes C2+. Generalmente, la invención proporciona reactores que comprenden catalizadores capaces de convertir gas de síntesis a alcoholes con selectividades baja al dióxido de carbono y metano, y proporciona además estrategias del proceso para separar y reciclar gas de síntesis sin reaccionar así como metanol producido por el catalizador. La invención es capaz de convertir las selectividades de reacción por el paso modesto a un alcohol particular, tal como etanol, dentro de selectividades y rendimientos puros importantes de manera sconómica.
