Abstract

Se proporcionan métodos para el aislamiento, caracterización y propagación de células madre de células de línea germinal de mamíferos fetales y adultos. Además, se escriben poblaciones aisladas de células de línea germinal teniendo diferentes fenotipos, en donde las sub-poblaciones son capaces de formar cultivos a largo plazo de células multipotentes o pluripotentes o son capaces de diferenciar a células de línea germinal maduras y re-poblar un órgano reproductivo estéril. Las células de línea germinal multipotentes y pluripotentes también son adecuadas para diferenciación a células somáticas de tejido específico para propósitos terapéuticos.
