Abstract

La presente invención concierne a un proceso para preparar copolímeros de composición variable continuamente que comprende: (a) proveer un contenedor de reacción que comprende una primera composición de monómero; (b) proveer un contenedor de alimentación que comprende una segunda composición de monómero; (c) iniciar una reacción de polimerización en el contenedor de reacción; (d) continuar la reacción de polimerización durante la adición gradual de la composición del segundo monómero del contenedor de alimentación al contenedor de reacción donde la adición gradual de la segunda composición de monómero se realiza de tal forma que los copolímeros de la composición variable continuamente se logran; (e) mantener la polimerización hasta por lo menos 90% de la composición total de monómero se ha convertido en un copolímero; donde el copolímero tiene un peso molecular promedio de 10,000 a 1,000,000; este copolímero es soluble en el aceite lubricante; y los monómeros provistos en el contenedor de reacción a través de la primera composición del monómero está compuesto por lo menos 50% por peso de todos los monómeros utilizados para preparar el copolímero.
