Abstract
Se pueden preparar alcoxilatos extendidos con óxido de alquileno novedosos de un 1,3-dialquil-oxi-2-propanol ramificado a través de un procedimiento conveniente que comprende agregar epiclorohidrina a un exceso estequiométrico de un alcohol ramificado, en donde la relación molar de alcohol ramificado:epiclorohidrina es al menos de aproximadamente 3:1, de preferencia en presencia de un hidróxido de metal el Grupo lA y un catalizador de transferencia de fase, seguido por alcoxilación en presencia de un catalizador jónico. La cadena alquilo ramificada puede ser saturada o insaturada y puede contener uno o más átomos heterogéneos. Las unidades alcoxi de repetición di óxido de alquileno están en la posición 2. Las composiciones son útiles como agentes tensoactivos, diluyentes, y similares, y pueden ser menos costosos que otros agentes tensoactivos ramificados.
