Abstract
En un aspecto, la invención proporciona un lente intraocular (IOL) que incluye un óptico y una pestaña óptica periférica que rodea al óptico. El óptico puede formar una imagen de un campo de vista en la retina del usuario del IOL y la pestaña periférica puede inhibir la disfotopsia. Por vía de ejemplo, la pestaña periférica puede incluir cuando menos una superficie texturizada que está adaptada para recibir rayos de luz periféricos que entran al ojo a ángulos visuales grandes de manera de ocasionar su dispersión a fin de inhibir la disfotopsia, y. gr., impidiendo la formación de una imagen periférica secundaria o dispersando algo de la luz a una región de sombra entre dicha imagen secundaria y una imagen formada por el IOL.
