Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un catalizador para la manufactura del metil mercaptano a partir de los óxidos de carbono, que comprende compuestos de Mo y K y óxidos o sulfuros de metales elegidos del grupo del manganeso. La mejora del presente proceso consiste del hecho que el dióxido de carbono puede ser convertido con conversiones y selectividades más elevadas al metil mercaptano cuando se compara con las tecnologías del estado del arte, con cantidades solamente menores de monóxido de carbono que son formadas como el producto secundario. Simultáneamente, el monóxido de carbono puede ser convertido fácilmente en dióxido de carbono e hidrógeno por la reacción con agua utilizando las tecnologías del cambio de gas-agua establecidas, incrementando así la selectividad total hacia el metil mercaptano.
