Abstract

La presente invención en general se refiere a un sistema para la descontaminación de aire, en donde partículas transportadas por el aire y otros contaminantes son neutralizados y/o destruidos por el ozono. El sistema en general comprende una cámara de acceso para recibir el aire a descontaminar, un generador de ozono generalmente conectado en forma fluida con la cámara de acceso y al menos una cámara de tratamiento en comunicación con la cámara de acceso, en donde el ozono presente en alta concentración, puede neutralizar y/o destruir efectivamente las partículas transportadas por el aire y/o los otros contaminantes contenidos en el aire. El sistema de descontaminación de aire típicamente se emplea en cooperación con el sistema de ventilación de una construcción.
