Abstract

A través de la adición de aire terciario y una reducción de aire secundario, pueden reducirse las emisiones de NOx de un calentador de residuo a energía (WTE); el aire terciario se agrega al WTE a una distancia desde el aire secundario, en una región del calentador de temperaturas relativamente inferiores; un sistema de reducción de NOx secundario, tal como un sistema de reducción no catalítica selectiva (SNCR) utilizando amoniaco o urea, también puede agregase al calentador con aire terciario para lograr los niveles elevados deseables de reducciones de NOx; los aditivos de SNCR se introducen al calentador WTE próximo al aire terciario.
