Abstract

A protective garment (10) incorporates a mask portion (12) and a body portion (14) which are configured to filter out airborne particulates. The protective garment (10) outwardly has the appearance of a conventional shirt, sweater or jacket, yet incorporates a convenient, easy to use, and readily accessible mask that is always available to the wearer and is ready for use on short notice. The mask portion (12) is configured to be worn as a folded over collar (21) when not in use and to be unfolded and rolled up to cover a wearer's nose and mouth and substantially all of the wearer's neck when in use as part of the protective garment (10).
