Abstract
Se describe un proceso y catalizador para la hidroxidación de una olefina que tiene tres o más átomos de carbono, tales como propileno, para formar un óxido de olefina, tal como óxido de propileno. El proceso implica el contacto de la olefina con oxígeno en presencia de hidrógeno y un catalizador de hidroxidación bajo condiciones de reacción; el catalizador comprende nanopartículas de oro depositadas en un soporte que contiene titanio nanoporoso, preparado depositando un complejo de grupo ligando de oro sobre el soporte para formar un precursor catalizador, y después calentar y/o tratar químicamente el precursor catalizador para formar la composición catalizadora de hidroxidación. El catalizador de hidroxidación exhibe una actividad catalizadora estabilizada, periodo útil mejorado, y una eficacia mejorada de hidrógeno.
