Abstract

Una capa absorbente que tiene un revestimiento low-EMR está diseñada para causar que el revestimiento tenga un color más neutro y/o verde en ángulos de observación normales y/o ciertos ángulos de observación fuera del eje. En ciertas modalidades ejemplares, la capa absorbente metálica o sustancialmente metálica (por ejemplo, NiCr) es de aproximadamente 20-30 angstroms de espesor; se ha descubierto que este espesor proporciona inesperadamente una coloración menos roja y más neutra para el artículo recubierto en ciertos ángulos de observación fuera del eje (por ejemplo, en un ángulo de observación fuera del eje de 45 grados). En ciertas modalidades ejemplares, la capa absorbente se proporciona entre una primera y una segunda capas de nitruro a fin de reducir o impedir la oxidación de la misma durante el tratamiento térmico permitiendo en consecuencia que se logre una coloración previsible después del tratamiento térmico.
