Abstract

Tradicionalmente los contaminantes orgánicos persistentes se colocan en basureros o se destruyen además liberando productos de descomposición dañinos en la atmósfera, la tierra o las mesetas de agua. Se proporciona un aparato de destrucción móvil para usarse con aceite contaminado con un material contaminante orgánico tóxico incluyendo un alojamiento que define una primera cámara de combustión de calefacción para calentar el aceite para generar un fluido tóxico usando un primer quemador conectado al mismo. El aparato incluye un cilindro de transición de rotación que define una cámara de secado, que está en comunicación fluida con la cámara de combustión para recibir el fluido tóxico. El cilindro incluye una cantidad de un material desecante para secar el fluido tóxico. Una segunda cámara de destrucción de calefacción se proporciona descendente del cilindro para calentar el fluido tóxico para convertirlo sustancialmente y destruirlo en un fluido inerte, el cual se extrae desde el aparato. También se describe un método para destruir contaminantes tóxicos de aceites contaminados.
