Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a métodos y aparatos para producción ésteres de alquilo a partir de cargas de alimentación con lípidos, tales como aceites de plantas y/o grasas animales, y sistemas que incluyen los mismos. En una modalidad, la invención incluye un proceso para producción de ésteres de alquilo que incluye mezclar una carga de alimentación con lípidos con un alcohol para formar una mezcla de reacción; y la puesta en contacto de la mezcla de reacción con un catalizador bajo condiciones supercríticas para el alcohol, el catalizador comprende un óxido de metal no modificado seleccionado del grupo que consiste de alúmina, titania, zirconia, y hafnia, y remover los ácidos grasos libres residuales de la mezcla de reacción.
