Abstract

La presente invención proporciona ácidos fosfinicos y sus derivados de azufre, de acuerdo con la siguiente fórmula (1): en donde R' y son diferentes y cada uno de R' y se selecciona independientemente de un radical orgánico que se ramifica en el carbono alfa y un radical orgánico que se ramifica en el carbono beta, y cada uno de X e Y es independientemente O o S, y en donde tal compuesto es un líquido a temperatura ambiente. Los compuestos de la fórmula (1) encuentran utilidad, por ejemplo, corno extrayentes metálicos. También se proporcionan métodos para la elaboración de los compuestos de la fórmula (1) y sus intermediarios de fosfina correspondientes.
