Abstract

Described is a filter made of biological material for removing toxic elements from water, such as Fluorine (F), Arsenic (As), Lead (Pb), Copper (Cu), Chromium (Cu) and Zinc (Zn), by means of flavonoids that are harmless to living beings and which have the capability of capturing elements or free radicals and retaining them by ion exchange in order to purify the water passing through said filter. The result obtained after bringing the water into contact with said filtrating elements made of flavonoids, is an effluent free of the aforementioned toxic elements, which may be used for human consumption after a further treatment.
