Abstract

A disk brake, in particular for an utility vehicle, has a brake caliper (1) that grips a brake disk that can be functionally connected to brake linings comprising a brake lining supporting plate and a friction lining secured thereto, and also has at least one closure cover (3) that encloses and hermetically seals a chamber (2) for housing functional parts of the brake caliper. The disk brake is designed in such a way that the closure cover (3) is form-fittingly connected to the brake caliper (1).

Description

DISC BRAKE, PARTICULARLY FOR AN INDUSTRIAL VEHICLE DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a disc brake, in particular for an industrial vehicle, according to the general concept of claim 1. A disc brake of this type is known, for example, from DE 199 07 958 A1. In this it is shown and described that a mounting and function opening is closed by means of a closing plate, to protect a housing chamber which houses a functional element of the brake calliper, such as the adjustment screws of a tightening device or other element Similary. The closure plate also serves as a carrier element for various assembly components such as bellows, gaskets and the like. The locking plate is fixed by means of screws that are arranged in the peripheral region and screwed in the brake calliper. However, this type of fastening, which includes in particular a tightening of the screws with controlled torque, is very time-consuming and, therefore, very cost-intensive, and is therefore opposed to an optimization of the technique. production. In order to achieve an effective sealing of the closure plate in front of the clamp squeegee, and thus prevent the penetration of moisture and dirt into the housing chamber, the closure cap is hermetically supported on the brake calliper. The sealing is carried out to date by means of a hardened sealing bead which is mounted on an external pre-assembly device first as a sealing of two components in the closure cap. For reasons of easy understanding, this way of placing a sealing means is achievable only with a considerable investment of time. Furthermore, it is necessary to machine the sealing surface of the brake caliper, which is usually produced as a casting part, that is to say, the region on which the sealing bead rests, in particular by milling. Because the disc brakes are produced in large quantities as parts in series, the simple and rapid production of the disc brake has a particular importance that is not satisfied by the known construction conditions. The invention is based, therefore, on the objective of perfecting a disc brake of the generic type in such a way that it can be produced and assembled with more simplicity and more economy. This objective is met by a disc brake having the features of claim 1.
Thanks to the positive connection of the closure cap with the brake calliper, preparation work is no longer required prior to an assembly of the closure cap, as was necessarily necessary according to the prior art, for example, by means of the application of threaded holes in the nose clamp. According to an advantageous further development of the invention, the lid has positive connection means in the peripheral region of the edge, which are complementary to positive joining means on the side of the brake calliper. Preferably, the positive attachment means of the closure cap can consist of retaining tabs that engage undercuts of the brake caliper, so that a reliable connection of the closure cap with the brake caliper is produced. The retaining tabs are elastically deformable to a certain degree, so that the closure cap has only to be pushed over the edge region of the function and mounting apertures of the pad clamp, where the undercuts are located, until the tabs of retention are reached to support the undermined. In principle, the closure cap, therefore, is latched. The retention tabs are formed by multiple incisions of a flange -which has been shaped- in the closing lid, and that is, in this sense, easy to produce, since the closing lid is manufactured as a deformation element, respectively, sheet metal stamping. The undercut associated with each retaining tab is part of a general peripheral notch in the edge region of the mounting and function opening of the receiving chamber, which is applied at once to the casting of the brake calliper. This positive connection connection not only forms an insurance against the loss of the closing cover, but also an insurance against an unauthorized opening of the brake, since the closing cover can not be disassembled in a non-destructive manner. According to another idea of the invention, it is envisaged to inject a liquid sealant, to seal the lid in front of the brake caliper, in a gap formed between the closing lid and the seat of the closing lid in the brake caliper, which hardens after inserting the closing lid under pressure and that prevents it from sliding. Because this liquid sealant is adapted to the surface conditions of the closure lid seat, no special machining of this region is required. This also results in a reduction of the production and assembly investment, so that they are produced together with the production and assembly simplified closing cap - significant advantages, in particular cost advantages compared to the state of the art. Other advantageous refinements of the invention are characterized in the dependent claims. An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below by means of the attached drawings. Shown: Figure 1 a part of an inventive disc brake in a perspective view Figure 2 a cross section through the component according to figure 1 Figure 3 the detail according to figure 1 in another perspective view Figure 4 a detail of the brake disc, represented by way of illustration. 1 shows a brake caliper 1 for a disc brake, in particular for an industrial vehicle, which has a housing chamber 2 for the operating parts, such as the adjusting screws of a clamping device or similar devices, whose Assembly opening and function is closed by a closing cover 3. Inventively, this closing cover 3 is connected in positive connection with the clamp 1 pincer. For this purpose, the closure plate 3 has, as shown particularly clearly in FIG. 4, a plurality of retaining tabs 5 on a peripheral edge, which have been formed by an angled flange and provided with incisions 8, the tongues 5 of which retaining the closure cap 3, formed of a sheet, a certain elasticity. It is particularly appreciated in FIG. 3 that the region of the edge of the mounting and function opening of the housing chamber 2 is configured around as a seat 7, where the closure cover 3 is indirectly supported in the assembled position. Before an assembly of the closure cap 3 a liquid sealant is applied to the seat 7. Subsequently, the snap-on lid 3 is pressed onto the liquid sealant 4, the edge region of the mounting and operating opening having an undercut 6 around which is hooked by the retaining tabs 5 after inserting the lid 3 pressure closure. After the liquid sealant 4 has hardened, a firm connection is thus established between the closing lid 3 and the brake caliper, which is also sufficiently sealed. By applying the liquid sealant 4, the irregularities of the Gross casting of the seat 7, the liquid sealant 4 also establishing an adhesion joint with the closing cover 3. As can easily be seen, the housing chamber 2 can be opened only by destroying the closure lid 3, which represents a memorable improvement in terms of safety technique.
