Abstract
The invention relates to a sock, especially for use in sports activities. Said sock consists of a shaft and a foot part having a toe and a heel area and a contact area between the toe and heel area, and is provided with a bandage. Said bandage (3) has a conical shape.
Description
CALCETIN DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to a sock, especially to be used in sporting activities, with a cane and a foot part comprising a heel area and a tread zone located between the toe area and the heel area, and that is provided with a bandage. Particularly during sports activities the feet of the human being are usually surrounded by socks. To obtain a good form of adjustment of the foot sock it is known to provide bandages in the form of rings in socks and stockings. These are provided in each case with a tubular cross section. Known bandages of this type serve to support the joints in sports activities. They usually meet the requirements that are required of them. However, the bandages do not take into account the actually narrow cross section of the foot in the area above the ankle, and its extension in the direction of the foot. As a result of this there is a possibility that the part of the bandage facing the foot is too narrow to the area of the foot that is wider, by virtue of having a diameter equal to that of the far side
of the foot This can cause pressure points. By virtue of the fact that the sock is worn directly on the skin, this can also lead to scrapes of the skin. In each case the performance capacity of the athlete is reduced for this reason. It is in this aspect that the invention wants to remedy. The object of the invention is to create a sock which takes into account in particular the anatomy of the foot and adapts optimally to the conditions in the transition between the foot and the tibia. In accordance with the invention this problem is solved by the fact that the bandage has a conical configuration. With the invention a sock is created, in particular for sports activities having a funnel-shaped configuration and it particularly takes into account the anatomical relationships in the transition between the tibia and the foot. By this, the pressure points in the area of the end of the bandage facing the foot are avoided. In addition, the configuration of the bandage has the effect that it binds more firmly to the ankle in the case of a sports activity, whereby the protective function is further increased. The bandage simultaneously prevents the cane from slipping in the direction of the foot. In an improvement of the invention, the bandage
It constitutes the end of the cane on its side away from the tread area. This creates the possibility of dispensing with the waistband that is usually provided in socks. This is offered in particular in the case of very short socks such as, for example, socks for runners or special tennis socks. By this, the respective tendencies of the sport types are taken into account, while simultaneously a great support function is obtained. In another development of the invention, a bridge is provided. Preferably the bridge extends substantially from the ankle area in the direction of the tread area, most preferably joining with its free ends to the bandage. The provision of the bridge leads to an additional fixation of the bandage and thus to the sock adapting even better to the foot. By means of the U-shaped configuration of the bridge below the tread surface, a superior lateral support function is also created. Other improvements and other configurations of the invention are specified in the remaining subordinate claims. In figures 3 a represent embodiments of the invention, which are described individually below. They show:
Figures are attached to a sock with bandage seen from the outer side of the foot as well as the view of the pair of socks from behind; Figures 2a to 2c a bandage sock seen from the outer side of the foot as well as the view of the pair of socks from the back in another configuration; and Figures 3a to 3c a bandaged sock seen from the outer side of the foot as well as the view of the pair of socks from behind in additional configuration. The sock that is selected as an example of embodiment consists of a standing part 1 and a shank 2. The standing part 1 comprises a finger area 11, a heel zone 12 and a tread zone 13 located between the area of the fingers and the heel. The zones 11, 12 and 13 can be produced from reinforced material, as shown in the exemplary embodiment. It is also possible to use combinations of material such as, for example, pure wool with elastomeric materials. In the examples of embodiment according to the figures the a and 2a to 2c the shank 2 is provided with a waistband 21 at its end remote from the standing part 1. In the area of the talo-calcaneal joint the sock is provided with a bandage 3. The bandage 3 is constituted by an elastic fabric and also regulates the climate. Preferably elastane, lycra or others are used
materials of different extension capacity. Generally bandage 3 is surrounding and interwoven with the tissue that constitutes the sock. It has a conical configuration and therefore has a different diameter in its width. On its side remote from the tread zone 13, the bandage 3 has a smaller diameter than on the side facing the tread area 13, that is, the side away from the waistband 21. This results in a funnel-shaped configuration of the bandage 3. This configuration has the effect that in the case of a sports activity, the bandage 3 is more firmly tied to the ankle, by means of which the support effect is additionally reinforced. In this way, the sock is simultaneously prevented from slipping in the direction of the standing part 1 in the case of a sports activity, whereby comfort of use is increased. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 2 a to 2 c, a bridge 4 is provided. The bridge extends substantially from the ankle region towards the tread area 13 and surrounds it transversely to the longitudinal centerline of the area 13 of tread. Therefore bridge 4 encloses the foot from the ankle on the inside to the ankle on the outside, by encircling the U-shaped foot in this area in the view from behind. With its free ends the bridge 4 joins the
bandage 3. The bridge 4 has the effect of an additional fixation of the bandage 3 and leads to a still more precise adjustment of the sock. Although the bridge 4 exerts a force on the bandage in the direction of the tread zone 13, by virtue of its conical configuration the bandage 3 remains in its predetermined position. In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 a to 3 c, the sock does not have a waistband. In this case the bandage takes over the function of the waistband. Therefore the bandage constitutes the top of the cane 2 on its side away from the tread zone 13. This embodiment is recommended in particular for racing socks and short tennis socks and the like. Although socks are mentioned in the description and the claims, the invention is not limited to these only; rather, this concept also includes socks, pantyhose and the like to which the invention also refers.
