Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un reactor electroquímico tipo filtro prensa útil en la industria minera para la recuperación de valores de plata y oro de soluciones provenientes de la lixiviación de materiales mineros; el reactor comprende un compartimiento catódico con un primer electrodo tridimensional de acero inoxidable, donde se lleva a cabo una reacción de electro-reducción de los valores de Ag(I) y Au(I) disueltos en un licor de lixiviación; y un compartimiento anódico donde ocurre una reacción de oxidación, aprovechando de manera conjunta la energía empleada; los compartimientos están separados por una membrana aniónica. La naturaleza y configuración del cátodo permiten generar depósitos en forma de polvo que salen del reactor por efecto de la velocidad del fluido, permitiendo la operación continua del proceso sin la necesidad de abrir el reactor. El reactor de la invención incluye placas de acero inoxidable para soportar los electrodos que permiten una distribución homogénea de la corriente eléctrica sobre las mallas; y tiene además un par de canales de distribución de flujo que permite la salida de los polvos metálicos electro-generados.
