Abstract
La presente invención está relacionada con la industria minera y de tratamiento de minerales. Específicamente se relaciona con un pretratamiento del material que posteriormente será sometido a un proceso de lixiviación y recuperación de oro y plata con soluciones de tiourea electro-oxidada. Específicamente, la invención se refiere a un pretratamiento del material para remover los metales base, contenidos en él y susceptibles de lixiviar, antes de su inclusión en el proceso de extracción y recuperación de plata y oro. El pretratamiento de la invención consiste en contactar el material con una solución ácida de 0.1 mol/L a 10 mol/L de ácido sulfúrico para separar los metales de base, susceptibles a lixiviarse, con el propósito de hacer más eficiente el uso de los reactivos y de la energía eléctrica en el proceso, así como para mejorar la pureza del electrodepósito selectivo. En su modalidad preferida el ácido se encuentra en una concentración de 0.1 mol/L a 10 mol/L y el material en una proporción de 1 a 500 gramos por litro de solución ácida; además el tiempo de contacto puede durar desde 0.5 hasta 48 horas, con o sin agitación. Con el pretratamiento se logra un incremento inesperado de la eficiencia de recuperación de valores metálicos.
