Abstract
Una planta de cultivo transgenica transformada por un acido nucleico que codifica un polipeptido relacionado con el estres simil Hookless (HSRP), en donde la expresion de la secuencia del acido nucleico en la planta de cultivo da por resultado el aumento de crecimiento de la raiz de la planta, y/o aumento del rendimiento, y/o aumento de tolerancia a estres ambiental, comparado con la variedad de tipo salvaje de la planta. Tambien se proveen productos agricolas, incluso semillas, producidas por las plantas de cultivo transgenicas. Tambien se provee un nuevo HSRP aislado y un nuevo acido nucleico aislado que codifica HSRP, y vectores y plantas transgenicas que lo contienen.
