Abstract
Se proporciona un dispositivo (1) de codificacion y metodo para convertir un conjunto de senales (1, r) en una senal (m) dominante que contiene la mayor parte de la energia de senal, una senal (s) residual que contiene el resto de la energia de senal y parametros (IID, ICC) de senal asociados con la conversion. La senal (m) dominante y las partes seleccionadas de la senal (s) residuales estan codificadas. La seleccion de las partes de la senal residual involucra una senal (s') residual que pasa por partes perceptualmente relevantes de la senal (s) residual, atenuando las partes perceptualmente menos relevantes de la senal residual y suprimiendo por lo menos partes relevantes de la senal residual. Un dispositivo (2) de descodificacion asociado y un metodo de descodificacion de la senal dominante codificada asi como la senal residual codificada de manera que produce una senal (m'u) dominante descodificada y una senal (s'mod) residual descodificada, respectivamente. Se deriva una senal residual sintetica (s'sin) de la senal (m'u) dominante descodificada y se atenua de manera que produce una senal (s'sin, mod) residual sintetica atenuada. La senal (ssin, mod) residual sintetica atenuada y la senal (s'mod) residual descodificada se combinan para producir una senal (S') residual reconstruida. La senal (m') dominante descodificada y la senal (s') residual reconstruida despues se convierten en un conjunto de senal (1', r??) de salida.
