Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a mejoras en procedimiento para la producción de acero a partir de portadores de hierro sólido tales como chatarras, esponja de hierro y lo similar, en donde dentro de un convertidor que en su zona de fondo tiene boquillas, se encuentra una columna del material de empleo que se introduce en forma sólida, que se funde bajo quema de combustible con oxígeno en contra-corriente y se sobrecalienta; caracterizadas porque el material de empleo se funden dentro del convertidor en el cual están colocados los quemadores de combustible y oxígeno en su zona de pared lateral por encima de las boquillas, junto con los quemadores y en caso de una presencia de un fundido de metal, se alimentan separadamente a la masa fundida del carbón finamente repartido y el oxígeno a través de las boquillas que están colocadas en la zona del fondo.
