Abstract
La présente invention concerne un appareillage et des procédés pour la production d'un gaz de combustion contenant du dioxyde de soufre, selon lesquels un liquide contenant du soufre est atomisé par un procédé pneumatique avec un pistolet ou une lance à soufre qui utilise un gaz d'atomisation pour former un mélange de combustion atomisé destiné à être brûlé dans un four à soufre. Le gaz de combustion contenant du dioxyde de soufre peut être utilisé pour la fabrication d'acide sulfurique via le procédé par mise en contact.
