• Exhibit examines Montgomery County's rich history (radfordnewsjournal.com) — Downtown Christiansburg’s Montgomery Museum of Art and History has opened a year-long “Montgomery County: 250 Years of History” exhibit, now fully accessible thanks to a new elevator lift. Visitors can explore two floors of interactive displays, including coal mining heritage, early education featuring Christiansburg Institute and Christiansburg Women’s College, and a room devoted to barn quilts, with hours Tuesday through Saturday and the exhibit running into January 2027.
• Sen. Suetterlein, Del. McNamara Blast Roanoke City Council for Flock Camera Snafus (theroanokestar.com) — Christiansburg residents’ state senator, David Suetterlein, is sharply criticizing Roanoke City’s mishandling of Flock Safety surveillance devices installed in unapproved locations near homes. He and Del. Joe McNamara argue the situation shows the risks of mass surveillance and urge local governments to rethink automated camera networks in favor of more targeted policing that protects privacy.
