• Accomack Indian Nation Chief challenges convictions ahead of sentencing (shoredailynews.com) — A woman convicted of filing false property encumbrances is challenging her case before sentencing, and several of the disputed parcels are in Cape Charles, including Bay Creek lots and the Rosenwald School. Prosecutors say a major Bay Creek sale was delayed and cost the company $70,000 after her filings, while the judge has rejected her latest motions. Sentencing is scheduled for August 4, and she could face a lengthy prison term.
