The Goldfish lives in its bowl, watching the ripples on the surface of the water. It can see the effects of the weaver (a shadow falls, a hand reaches in to feed it) but cannot comprehend the weaver itself—the room, the house, the world beyond. The weaver's reality is "unknowable" to the goldfish.

The visual design emphasizes that we cannot predict beyond a certain point — the final era is labeled "the unknowable" because post-singularity intelligence may be as incomprehensible to us as quantum physics is to a goldfish.

Step 3: This creates an infinite regress. The simulation must contain a simulation, which contains a simulation, and so on, instantly requiring infinite computational power.
