This page is proudly part of the /now community by Derek Sivers and also part of About Ideas Now community. All those communities include this page π. Yet I do not count traffic on this website, I do not care about stats and analytics or clicks, I'm just trying to know what content is interesting if possible so I know which pages I should keep up-to-date. I write for myself and because I love blogging. Enjoy !

- ποΈ 2025 / June 14-17
- I feel so good to have moved out of Brussels. My surroundings instantly makes me more relaxed and at peace. I now live in a small village that belongs to Gembloux entity (halfway through Brussels -> Namur), everything is so quiet here, I appreciate driving minutes without seeing anybody but cows.
- ποΈ 2025 / June 9-13
- We are a bit chocked by the recent layoff of a colleague that we can't make sense of and this could have a huge impact. Time for self reflection.
- I feel worried about recent violence in Anderlecht, Brussels, it's so sad to feel my beloved city is so impacted by narcotrafiquants.
- Not blogging much. Hacking a lot of bookmarking/tagging automation around Shaarli that I need to blog about.
- Released CineKids an app to give age recommandations for movies and tv shows. Mostly based on BE/NL/FR databases.
- About to move out of Brussels. We have bought a place we will renovate til EOY. In the meantime we move very close to the future house, in a temporary location.

- We are moving soon (in the next weeks).
- ποΈ 2025 / April
- I still think about my brother living in France whom I have lost touch with. Bro, if you read this, call me anytime, your godson and I miss you!

- We prepare for moving out of Brussels, we will move to Bovesse. Also we will welcome our fourth family member in September β€οΈ.
- ποΈ 2025 / January
Big updates are in progress, but I can't yet disclose anything.
I'm preparing to attend FOSDEM in Brussels, Belgium! It's my favorite and free conference for nerds. - ποΈ 2025-01-08
I'm replacing Google Mail/Calendar with Fastmail.
I'm replacing Google Tasks with TickTick.
I'm trying Plex TV as an alternative to Netflix/Prime/Disney subscriptions. - ποΈ 2024-11-29
I'm replacing n8n with php scripts ran through cron jobs on a Cloudron LAMP application, thanks to LLM for easing the migration. - ποΈ 2024-10-28
π My frustration towards bookmarks management tools keeps growing as the tools I try are rarely features complete : Shaarli lacks a tags engine and lacks content caching, Wallabag lacks a good search, Linkwarden is buggy and its content search is broken for imported links, etc. Other tools in CLI are great but I want something web oriented that I can host on Cloudron. So I'm working on a project named Tapas, which I explain under Ideas. - 𧱠Lego was really part of my life and is back with my little one.
- βοΈ I'm taking a break with some of my daily news subscriptions: Stuut, Revue Silence, Marianne, Mediapart, @Westenberg Tech + Politics + Humans, MrMondialisation, Next, Framablog - Khrysβpresso, Bon Pote, etc. reason being this was a lot of negative karma on a daily basis, way too much for me, and despite all the filters I had set up on Miniflux, I was still feeling overwhelmed due to all of this.
- π«’ I documented things I like too much in my /guilty pleasures. Maybe that could be a meta thing like /ideas, /now, /uses.
- πͺπ» If you want to know what initiatives I support, and if you want to support me or say thanks, visit my new /support page !
- π§ The Bombo Podcast (food, art, design, creators) is worth listening to for french speaking audience and deserves that I speak about it especially if you prefer to listen to people interesting stories while relaxing rather than the usual "learn something new with this podcast".
- πΏοΈ I've a huge collection of CDs that I didn't hear in a long time and I've recently bought CD music player from KLIM on Amazon and I've yet to complete my collection, hence if you want to help me completing my wishlist, visit my new /support page!
πΌ Work
- π· (Soon) Lead Platform Engineer at Vertuoza, in Nivelles, from April 2026.
- π¨π»βπ DevOps / SRE at Ibanity In Brussels, Belgium since Winter 2023 til March 2026.
- π€Ή Freelancer and co-owner of Zoemp SRL with my partner since April 2022.
π©Ί Health and Sport and Well being
Well being
- No to πππ! Since mid-February I really pay close attention to the kind of food I buy and eat and I resist it all, even π΅βπ« Guilty pleasures π and even raclettes.
- πͺ Without enough sleep, I'm a mess. And screens lights make it very difficult to find sleep. And being an ADHD programmer too.
- π€― Paperwork/administrative work drains my energy. Instead I like to eliminate, automate, delegate, reduce, simplify, you name it. But there is so much paperwork beyond what I can manage it's something I struggle still with as freelancer. And I'm not alone on this crusade.
- π€ I've been lately diagnosed with Autism, at the age of 37. That's not changing my life, but it helps to understand a few things. A lot of people are concerned with the autism spectrum disorder and it's not always obvious for them, it wasn't for me neither and I keep educating myself on this topic. I recommend this good blog Autistic As Fxxk full of resources.
- π€« I like to isolate myself from external noise and energy draining environments and people, I need time, quiet, peace, calm and simple things in order to recharge. Γ, rather, I need a fewer things. I like to remove, destroy, throw away things that do not cause me stress to have them.
Activities
- π§π»I used to climb indoor in Brussels, nowadays with the second toddler life is busy π and I'm also living far from my climbing buddy who is in Brussels.
- πΆπ»I walk and relax and chill rather than running. See also Marcher la vie : Un art tranquille du bonheur.
- π₯΅ I believe that any sport should first be relaxing and safe, and suffering is not a goal. We have nothing to prove ourselves and extreme sports are, think again, extreme.
Projects
I'm now sharing my blog posts and project brain farts in Ideas.
ποΈ Culture
ποΈ Novels / Essays
- π I like the idea of anti library, also named Tsundoku (η©γθͺ?). TLDR unread books are useful as a messy and inspiring pile ποΈποΈποΈ.
- π I recommend reading La Horde du Contrevent and La Zone du Dehors by Alain Damasio.
- ποΈ Wanna read so many books.
- Or maybe I should just relax instead and keep watching movies.
- Or maybe I should work on this side gamedev project or infra-as-code project.
- Or let go of things and to-dos and goals for a while.
- Or maybe I should just enjoy life π
π€π» Music

π΅ Keep track of what I listen to on
- ListenBrainz at https://listenbrainz.org/user/SansGuidon/
- Last.fm at SansGuidon's Library - Last.fm π΅
Note that those trackers keep an history of any song I listen to through Navidrome or Jellyfin which are open source apps I use instead of Spotify. And since May 2025, those trackers are also aware of when I listen to RTBF Classic 21 live radios π , see Scrobbling RTBF live radios to LastFM and ListenBrainz with userscripts. - I also document my music collection on https://rateyourmusic.com/~SansGuidon
FUTURE
- I plan to go see Ultra Vomit again, this time in France, with my kiddo, at Lille.
PAST
- April 2025 π€π₯³ π§πͺ Ultra Vomit (French Metal Parody) in Belgium.
Some recurrent artists and albums I'm listening to nowadays
- π€Ultra Vomit (French Metal Parody) - Offical page.
Favorite radios / playlists in the background
- Classic 21 - Metal | RTBF | Radioplayer
- I built a user-script based scrobbler for any RTBF live radio π on Scrobbling RTBF live radios to LastFM and ListenBrainz with userscripts.
- lofi.cafe - lofi music π§
- Metal Express Radio
- FIP Radio Metal
π¬οΈ Movies and TV Shows
I used to know every movie, but I'm giving up on staying up-to-date. It's just too much for me while already dealing with too many other things. Anyway I keep watching archiving my favorite movies and tv shows and grow my collection on Plex for ease of watching them everywhere.
- Past
- I've watched 28 Years Later in movie theaters, absolutely love it, likely because I enjoy post-apocalyptic fiction.

I also love to watch movies with my kid and I've this work-in-progress site CineKids made to search movies and tv shows from some databases and display the recommended age for each result, so I avoid picking unsafe-for-kids (scary or violent etc) movies.
π¬ Comics

- π«π· SamuraΓ― - a French comic series set in medieval Japan, created by Jean-FranΓ§ois Di Giorgio and FrΓ©dΓ©ric GenΓͺt, following the adventures of samurai Takeo and his disciple Shiro as they confront empire-wide conspiracies and dark prophecies. The series, launched in 2005, now includes multiple spin-offs. Problem is that by now I cannot find anywhere a printed version of the next album I'm about to read. What a shame.
- π«π· Le petit théÒtre des opΓ©rations
Paused
- π«π· Les Pilliers de la Terre.
- π«π· Complainte des Landes Perdues by Jean Dufaux. I've to catch up.
Past
- π«π· I've enjoyed Logicomix - a book about logic, mathematics, philosophy.
- π«π· Faut pas prendre les cons pour des gens, T5, it's about the absurdism in our societies.
- π«π· Les Aigles de Rome, T6 and T7.
- π«π· I've enjoyed DΓ©tox by Jim and Antonin Gallo.
- πΊπ² I've read Garfield - Comme un Lundi (T74) by Jim Davis.
βοΈBoard games
I document my board games collection at https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/SansGuidon?own=1&subtype=boardgame&ff=1
I used to build my own board games rules as a child, mostly strategy games, role games and war games. I'm still thinking about going back to this hobby.
- π I had lot of fun playing Jeu de Cochons / Pass the pigs at a birthday party.
- π It is still fun to play Smart 10 and Les 7 Vilains.
- π I've just bought βοΈ Order Overload and πΉ Power Hungry Pets.
- β³οΈ I love to play Time's Up Kids with my little one.
π The best way to get in touch is via my email morgan at zoemp dot be. You can also follow me on the Fediverse / Mastodon at @sansguidon@mamot.fr. I speak (a lot) French, English and a bit of Dutch.
