FAQ

What is Miden Wallet?

Miden Wallet is a self-custodial wallet available as a Chrome Extension and, soon, on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. It allows users to manage assets, send and receive tokens, and interact with dApps on Miden, all while keeping transaction details private.

How is Miden Wallet different?

Miden Wallet supports client-side proving, enabling off-chain "state" and private accounts. Transactions are proved locally on users' devices, rather than by network validators, keeping sensitive data private.

How can I get tokens to use the testnet?

Once you've set up your Miden Wallet, head to the "Faucet" section in the app. Select the token you would like to receive, and the faucet will send the tokens directly to your account. These tokens have no value outside the testnet and are meant only for exploring the Miden ecosystem.

What assets does Miden Wallet support?

Miden Wallet supports fungible "test" tokens, including $MIDEN, $BTC, and $ETH. As the Miden ecosystem grows, we will add support for additional assets.

Who is Miden Wallet for?

Anyone who wants to manage digital assets with strong privacy guarantees: developers exploring the Miden ecosystem, curious ZK researchers, or crypto-natives who value privacy.

Is Miden Wallet open-source?

Yes. Miden Wallet is fully open-source and the code is available on GitHub. Anyone can review the code, contribute to it, or build on top of it.

Can I use dApps with Miden Wallet?

Yes. Miden Wallet supports dApp connections. The Miden Wallet's built-in dApp browser allows users to navigate to any Miden dApp and interact with it. When a dApp requests a transaction, you'll always see a confirmation prompt before anything is signed.
