The first episode had me hooked, but I started to lose interest quickly. The pacing is quite slow and the bulk of scenes are filler. I understand that VInce is the type of person to do these slow-burn type of shows, but it doesn't work as well with sci-fi (compare it to Severance, for example, which has similar vibes to this but much quicker pacing). Especially considering that this series is essentially a big mystery trying to be uncovered, but it feels like very little revelations are made despite the long run time. I wanted this to be something that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and episode one definitely delivered in that department, but I found myself quite bored for the majority of the episodes. Also, I can't tell what genres it wants to be because it's too boring to be a thriller, too serious to be a comedy, yet too unserious to be a drama.
Additionally, I think the character of Carol was made with Eleanor Shellstrop from The Good Place in mind, and while Rhea is a great actress, she lacks the charisma to make this character likable to any degree. Kristen Bell makes Eleanor so great because of her natural comedic timing and charm, but Carol just comes off as a sarcastic Karen or that one elementary school teacher no one likes. I've tried hard to like her but she really is just obnoxiously standoffish the entire time.
Honestly, none of the characters are all that likable (even though there aren't very many main characters to begin with), and it feels like the only one that gets enough screentime to be 3-dimensional in any capacity is Carol.
Is this show bad? No. I'd even say it's good. But it's just not great.

Manousos should have been the main character and the show should have been edited down to a movie. Incredible premise and cinematography and attention to detail. But Carol is just such a selfish moron. She acts like a child and has such inconsistent motives it's not fun or interesting to watch. Manousos is at least clever, resourseful, and trying to save the world.
I really don't know what I think of this show. Is it genius or rubbish. Really it is the eye of the beholder and what mood you are in. The initial premise was great . The first 2 episodes fun and intriguing and then what appeared to be a metaphorical brick wall, a show condemned really by its own story limitations. Literally it appears to have no where to go but takes a long time not to get there. At least 3 episodes did nothing . I really mean nothing. The acting is good the filming looks great. The lead has a well fleshed out character but 9 episodes was too much. Its worth watching you could probably jump the middle 3 maybe 4 episodes you wont miss anything.
Basically started this show because of Vince Gilligan and my love of Breaking Bad. The first episode had me hooked, I was on the edge of my seat. I didn't love the main character, but she seemed incredibly human and I was willing to keep going with her because of the premise. Then the plot... slowly went downhill from there. Carol becomes more and more annoying and anything resembling excitement or tension kind of dies out after the first couple of episodes. Now it just feels like I'm watching a crazy lady live her life in the meta verse.
When I started watching it, the series had a 9.1/10 rating, so I was expecting something extraordinary. Maybe I'm jaded, but it definitely wasn't. Nothing revolutionary, nothing new. Not bad, but not innovative either.
The first episode is promising, but the second is rather boring...
We'll see if the rest lives up to expectations, but it doesn't bode well. At first glance, it looks like a series with only dialogue, differing opinions, more dialogue, and not much else.
