Some way into his established relationship with Athena, there is an accident in the Words of Halmarut while Lahabrea is there. He contracts Hanahaki disease, which 1) wasn’t what the creation was supposed to do anyway so that was a mistake 2) while Halmarut and Emmerololth argue signs point to unrequited love as the cause of his symptoms, even they are skeptical since everyone believes Athena loves her husband back. Athena herself insists that they must be mistaken.

Erichthonios, pre-Pandaemonium, dreams about a version of his mother that does not exist. He dreams of being held tenderly, of being praised and loved and valued by at least one of his parents, but eventually, his dreams take on a more lurid aspect. Basically: Eric dreams about breastfeeding from Athena while she jerks him off.

AU where Athena decides Erich is a failed experiment, so, using whatever means the writer prefers, she restrains Erichthonios and non-cons him into impregnating her a second time (since obviously Lahabrea isn’t up to the task)

Bonus points for Erich being absolutely terrified by the idea that it might work and trying to hold back his orgasm for as long as possible but Athena forcing it out of of him anyway.

themis is about to do what themis does and become a professional zodiark kin, and erichthonios has been taking the decision as well as you’d expect him to: a lot of denial, a lot of arguing, and a lot of struggling to come to terms with the fact that he’ll never be able to change themis’s mind. he knows it’s something that themis has to do, for both their people and himself - but that doesn’t make it hurt any less to know that this is the last they’ll see of each other, and should the world turn to ruin, they’ll be spending their final moments alone and apart.

not really necessary to have this be their first confession of feelings if you’d rather go with a more established relationship. just let them see each other off with something pleasant, okay?

Erichthonios is attracted to Themis but projects a bit of his mommy issues with (and fucked up attraction to) Athena onto him. Lahabrea fucks Themis in front of him to try and break him out of the mindset, but is also obsessing over Athena so he’s WAY too into fucking her proxy. Erichthonios feels guilty and aroused and isn’t sure if he’s more jealous of Lahabrea fucking Themis or Themis getting fucked by Lahabrea. Athena may or may not be actually present, but she’s important enough to be a Presence in there, you know? Erichthonios is definitely also thinkin’ about mom while he jerks off to his dad fucking his boyfriend. What a mess.

They’ve come a long way thanks to being forcibly thrown together like two angsty, drenched cats in Abyssos, but more or less a decade of avoidance and festering loathing doesn’t just vanish overnight. Making up for lost time turns into the two of them bickering as ever, and Lahabrea is forced to face the harsh reality that he doesn’t quite know his son at all, always insisting on treating him as a weak, dependent child, even as he stands before him now as a man. Mutually wounded and raw from all that’s happened with Pandaemonium, the two knock horns perhaps even harder than they had before - and to make matters worse, Lahabrea finds it all the harder to see his son’s eyes narrowed in anger, glowing their fulgent red, and not be reminded of the same passion that had filled his mother’s.

With Athena gone, Hesperos is essentially raising Lahabrea’s son. Contrary to his expectations, it does not mean he gets to see the man any more often.
