So, fine, Clint got there to get Coulson out, but he sort of resents that he was only able to kill the bad guys once because what kind of drug did they give him that he won’t shut up? Oh, and also because they hurt him kind of a lot, and naturally backup is 18 hours away. Fortunately, they’re near a cabin Clint knows about, and it does seem to be pretty well stocked.

So, what exactly does a Storm Trooper learn in his lifetime of training? Because Poe keeps seeing new ways in which the educational system has failed Finn. Fortunately, this one is fun to remediate.

They’ve been in one place now as long as they were ever on the run, and things look pretty good.

And then Aaron, who doesn’t get sick except that one time they did it on purpose? Aaron gets miserably sick. It kind of freaks him out.

When Phil was a young man, a fortune teller at the circus told him he’d face death a hundred times.

He didn’t believe her, until, upon reflection on the evidence, he kind of maybe did.

And then he met Clint.

Ever since the battle (ever since Coulson died, is the main thing here) Clint can’t sleep. Like, at all. 45 minutes of unconsciousness in a night is a great fucking success, and half the time, even that happens in several pieces over the course of several hours. Losing his mind is on the very short list of ways things can go next.

Then, he has a brilliant idea, but until he gives it a try, he doesn’t know how brilliant it is.

(Turns out, it’s brilliant.)

Clint Barton, one time carnie, is halfway to a college degree and working nights to pay for it when Phil Coulson shows up in his life and orders a burrito.

It wasn’t as though Leonard hadn’t had a pretty clear sense of how he felt about Jim for a long damn time. He’d been halfway in love since along about the time the guy dragged him out of the dorm for bar-hopping the third week they’d been at the academy on the grounds he might need a doctor if he got in a fight And Leonard didn’t have all that many friends and had thought he didn’t want any more anyway, but then Jim had wormed his way in and stayed put, and within a few weeks, Leonard had found himself looking forward to the whirlwind of genius and trash (seriously, the kid couldn’t manage to eat a gumdrop, much less a taco, without making a mess) that was a visit from Jim Kirk.

Clint has an unexpected toddler. Phil has an unexpected toddler-managing skillset. And both of them have crushes on each other.

Phil and Clint are undercover as a couple, but alas, they are being observed and need to look involved in private.

It seems like a straightforward enough job, explaining seventy years of American culture. Okay, not straightforward like ordering a Caramel Frappuccino (because those things are basically perfect exactly the way the Gods of Starbucks, who seriously need to have a talk with the God of Thunder about catering to one’s user base and being convenient and making things easy, created them, so it’s only a question of grande or venti), because really, seventy years encompasses Vietnam and Madonna and Elvis and Iraq (and more Iraq, and another heaping handful of Iraq) and DADT and Nirvana, so there’s a lot of ground to cover.

“Bullshit.” Tony waved his hand wildly in the air near his head. “JARVIS, that has to be bullshit.”

For a strange shocked moment as Danny’s tongue pushes into his mouth, Steve has the weird sense this isn’t happening, and he freezes. Danny stills as well and pulls back just a hair so Steve can still feel his heartbeat still feel his breath as he cocks his head. “What? Am I doing it wrong? Because if I’m doing it wrong, I want to know, although I’ve never gotten any complaints before so maybe it’s a Hawaii problem. Is that it? A Hawaii problem?”

If they can’t go back to Pegasus and they’re going to be stuck on a nondescript base with substandard equipment and an inadequate coffee supply and idiots in charge, which is totally unacceptable, there had better be something really good waiting on the other… wait. Really? Okay, well in that case. (just don’t tell Rodney this is making lemonade, because for one thing, it’s really not, and for another, he probably wouldn’t appreciate the metaphor).

Spock understands, because his father has explained to him, that the truly incomprehensible amount of water falling from the sky is a somewhat less-usual, but fundamentally ordinary, experience for most of the habitable climates of this planet. The storm is unlike any he has witnessed at home, despite that Vulcan’s deserts do see periodic rainy seasons which facilitate the growth of vegetation.
