I’m reading The Three Musketeers and apparently it’s a little anachronistic because the monetary system in the book didn’t exist until fifteen years later.

That’s OK. It’s like when Andor says it’s 4 BBY, before the BBY reckoning was introduced which was 25 ABY (because they didn’t know the Battle of Yavin would happen and the Yavin location was secret). I see as “translation”.

on 30 October 2001 a court decided in favor of Flammarion and ordered the authors to produce an album (the third of the series), with a fine of €1000 per each day’s delay

That would be my absolute nightmare and would kill all joy of art. I mean, voluntarily going under contract to make an album with that fine per day of delay would be one thing, but having a court baselessly deciding that would be quite another.

(“Baselessly” since it was overturned three years later. But that’s over a thousand days later!)
