For Someone Special

Here is a card using items from the list provided by Festive Friday:

I chose to use the elements of silver, white, and rhinestones.

For this I used a new product from Waffle Flower Crafts – the ‘Happy Chevrons’ die. I first cut it out of white card, then silver glitter card, snipping the two edges so I could alternate the white with the silver.

I then started by placing the top white piece flat to a piece of card, adding the silver with 3D foam to raise the image and create some dimension, and on downwards to fill the panel.

This was then layered with another piece of silver glitter card, then attached to a card base, the gems added, and then the foiled sentiment.

Winter Birthday

Hello everyone. I have a card to share inspired by several challenges:

I started this card by taking a light blue piece of card and using a Simon Says Stamp snowflake embossing folder. I then ran – very gently – a white pigment ink pad over the top to bring out some of the embossing d3etails on the snowflakes.

This panel was then cut down slightly so I could a have a thin white border around when attached to the card base.

I then used some Pinkesh Studio snowflakes and die cut them out of vellum, attaching with a little tape runner to the blue panel, and adding gold gems to the centre of each snowflake.

The final step was to add the gold foiled sentiment.

A Season of Merry Moments

Hi there. I have another card to share inspired by the current challenge at Sparkles Christmas:

This stamp, die, and stencil set is from Pinkfresh Studio – another virtual event from last year and not used yet.

I began by gold heat embossing all the images, then used the matching layering stencils to colour them in. This was then die cut – one stamped image and one die to cut out all the elements – which were set aside whilst I considered the background.

I found some Hero Arts snowflakes transfers and rubbed part of the sheet down onto a light blue piece of card stock.

The bottom piece of a white card with a little light blue ink blending – the same as I used for the snowy areas on the main image.

The blue and white panel were glued down to a white card base, and the tree adhered with 3D foam, as were the critters – but the ladder was glued flat, but was layered a couple of times for stability.

The sentiment was also gold heat embossed, die cut with the matching die – layered a couple of times – then glued to the bottom.

These snowflakes are lovely, and so easy to rub them onto a piece of card – I can see I will be using all of them at some point in the near future…

Purple Flowers

Hello yet again. When I didn’t have access to the internet last week for quite a few days I spent a lot of time crafting, and luckily had been able to access a few challenge pages on my phone whilst out and about.

This card was inspired by the current challenge at Pinspirational:

As soon as I saw all the purple and blue tones, I knew I wanted to make flowers, and this Concord & 9th set seemed perfect to me – large and bold flowers to go with the large and bold colours.

This die set is from their 2025 Winter Retreat and has a stitched background to enable you to match the layout they provide -but you know I went my own way with this….

I die cut flowers and foliage from card stock from Concord & 9th, Spellbinders and others from my stash.

I ink blended the larger flowers a little in the centre of each layer then glued them together. I did the same with the light blue die cuts – just a little extra interest.

The background panel is light grey, and I also used another of the products received for that same virtual event – the ‘Double Card Front‘ which adds some stitched lines. This creates stitched lines onto an A2 panel, but as this card is 5 x 7 inch, I did have to play around with the stitched die a little, some partial die cutting, so I could lengthen it to fill the whole size.

Once this stitched panel was adhered, I then played around with the layout, adding the flowers first with 3D foam, then adding each of the leaves and extra small flowers with glue and 3D foam as I felt was needed.

The final steps were to add the foiled sentiment and gems:

Winter Cabin

Hello again. Here is a card I created using dies from the Concord & 9th ‘Winter Retreat’:

The cabins, mountains and clouds were die cut and assembled, then put to one side whilst I thought about the layout and what kind of scene I wanted to create.

I decided to go with a winter scene, with clear blue skies, so I cut the blue card and attached the clouds flat, then took some white glitter card for the ground.

I added some champagne glitter card for the tops of the mountains so they would look a little different to the snow on the ground.

The layers were all added, attaching the cabins and mountains as you see, before stamping and adding the sentiment.

Merry & Bright

Hello and welcome to the first challenge of the year at ABC Christmas Challenge. Helen is hosting, and for the letters ‘A’ & ‘B’, we have the Christmas themes of A is for Anything goes, and B is for Bright. Here is my card following the theme of ‘Bright’:

I created this card using this inlay die of Christmas trees, die cutting the whole panel in white, then used strips of coloured card stock to die cut the trees.

The white layer was then added to a piece of card with a piece of double-sided sticky sheet – leaving the opening for the trees sticky – then each tree inlaid.

The sentiment was stamped then die cut with the matching die and attached as you see.

Tulip Birthday

I have a card to share inspired by the current challenge at Festive Friday. When I saw their them was National Tulip Day, and aw the list to choose three items from the list, I remembered I had this die and stencil set from Waffle Flower that I have never used – time to play:

The first step was to die cut the panel, and then ink blend using the matching stencil set. I chose to use orange and yellow for the flowers, two colours from the provided list, but then I also added a backing piece of red paper which you can see behind the die cut panel.

Once all attached to a card base, I stamped and die cut the birthday sentiment – another item from the list – and adhered as you see.

I wanted the sentiment to be quite bold, which is why I chose black, so I also added some black enamel dots.

Quite a bright and cheery card to help get over this snow hump we are having in the UK at the moment. xx

S is for Square

Hello. I’ve been having some issues with internet access, but have finally managed to get this sorted.

The Alphabet Challenge has reached the letter ‘S’, and Dawn has chosen the theme of ‘Square’. Here are my cards:

These cards are quite easy to create, and felt the square dies from Pinkfresh Studio would be perfect.

I first created the background coloured panel’s These are using Yupo and alcohol inks, having a little play with just one colour – but using the blowy tool thingy to get a wispy look.

I then die cut the floral squares out of white, adding frames around with some nesting square dies, then die cut the alcohol ink panels and glued them to the back.

These were then added to a card base, and foiled sentiments from my stash adhered. Some variety of sentiment, for no particular reason, other then now I have three cards ready to go.

Country Scape

Hello everyone, and a Happy New Year to you all. I am afraid I am a little late with this post, as I have been without internet for the past 5 days – my Starlink system decided to pack in, and we had to wait four days for a new system to get from the USA to us here in the UK….a great time frame to receive it, but what a pain – you certainly realise how dependant you are on the internet these days….

Cardz 4 Galz started a new challenge, Johanna has chosen the theme of ‘Country Scape’. Here is my card:

I used a Hero Arts die to create the scene, snipping and cutting where needed to add the different tree colours. I also used an embossing folder on those circle for the trees, to give a little more dimension to them.

The blue skyline behind the scene is some patterned paper, and the sentiment is gold foiled.
