Overview

Computing and Software for Big Science becomes EPJ Research Infrastructures in 2026 (see:Journal updates)

Computing and Software for Big Science is dedicated to the publication of high-quality material originating from all current and emerging scientific communities in which experimental research is increasingly based on large-scale research infrastructures. With particle, nuclear and astrophysics as prime examples, the journal welcomes contributions from all areas of fundamental and applied physics where collective international efforts take center stage.

  • Focuses on research producing large amounts of data generated at the very frontiers of energy, intensity and detector technology.
  • Includes coverage of machine learning and data science.
  • Investigates collaborative efforts regarding both experimental and theoretical challenges.
  • Solicits original research, technical papers, editorials, tutorials, reviews, and community white papers.
