Loving Decays [FULL GAME]

this game was awesome!!! it took me SO long to get endings 3 and four but GOD was it worth it!! its a great game and if anyone is on the fence about downloading it you def should!! 

I 100% recommend playing this when you're bored, it takes up a lot of time and is super fun!!

played it yesterday and wow :')

it was absolutely exquisite! truly one of the best visual novels i've played, and the one that matches my specific tastes the best. i really wish i could write more, but the vn left me completely speechless haha. i don't leave comments often, but this one really deserved it :)

though, i cant believe that it ended so quickly, even though the length was perfect (35k words is crazyy), i feel like i will never get enough of our lovely chao. 

every minute detail was perfect. the storyline was intriguing, visuals simple and stunning, and background music matched every scene perfectly. the progression of the story and each ending felt natural and not forced at all, which really sucked me right in the story. truly, i was enchanted by it, and tension in several scenes was created so well that i had to get up multiple times to calm myself down ':D yes, i was squealing and giggling the entire time !

chao is just tooo cute, and i loved his expressions so much. proud to say i got e4 first hehe, and while all the ending we're really enjoyable, i especially loved his expression in the scene leading up to e4 (the "right questions" scene in the restaurant), you really nailed it down. 

overall, as i go on to play your other games, i would love to see more of your work (and more of chao  as well)!

HELP I DID NOT EXPECT THAT?? & HE'S THE REASON WE HAD TO GET ANOTHER ID, ETC.??? (That one scene that heads to E1) 

But oh my days, I've only gotten E1 & E2 b/c I'm genuinely struggling with getting the other two endings LOL, this is so well-written? I feel so attached to Chao, I love his character & the opposites attract trope, it's one of my favorites omgomg. I also have a particular favor to E2, it's so sweet and honestly this whole VN is just a masterpiece, you've outdone yourself author!!! If you release more VNs, I'll be sure to check them out!!!

I generally don’t leave comments on games, I tend to just play and enjoy them. But this time I felt like I had to leave one.

It’s very rare for me to enjoy a character as much as I did Chao. He’s been written so well, like an actual person and it’s a breath of fresh air. Additionally, the MC also feels like they’re a person that could live in the real world, with genuine reactions and thoughts towards specific subjects and experiences. I’ve had moments where their thoughts were mine. “I wonder what it would be like to XYZ,” and it made me feel understood and accepted. Not every thought is acted upon, but explored in a way that sates their curiousity. Not to mention, Chao doesn’t immediately go from a 0 to a 100, he waits, he gauges reactions, he doesn’t do anything until the MC decides they want to know, wants to experience.

The game has genuinely been written really well and I adore the personality types both Chao and the MC have. They’ve got jobs most people don’t think of when it comes to the real world and the work and mental toll that comes with said jobs. Additionally, the side-characters feel like genuine personalities instead of the blank slates I often see. I could feel the dedication and passion behind the project in just these couple of things alone. The world-building has been immaculate and I adore it. <3

I like how some of the "red flags" could easily be dismissed or even interpreted positively. And I really like your choice of their profession, the parallels.

I had seen this game a little while back and it took me a bit to play it but I am soooo glad I did!! I was blushing and giggling and kicking my feet!! I ADORE Chao and the way he was written. He feels like a posion and he feels like a living plant. Its really perfect. I've also never really come across a yan VNs that match my brand of freak, its either a bit too tame or way too intense but this is just right. I hope you make more games, I'd love to see more of your writing!!

I'm not trying to sound dramatic, but I literally made an account just to leave a comment to tell you how fricking good this vn is. I've had itch for years, but never felt an account was necessary because all I do is download stuff and that's it. THIS IS AMAZING THO. I really just had to get my thoughts out and let you know you should be super proud of your work. As soon as I got done playing it the first time, I had to get every ending, understand every little detail, and how everything connects to each other in this oddly deep and poetic way. I find it funny that lots of people struggled to get E3 and E4 because those were the first two I got… even the order of the endings has meaning. Though I guess you can assign meaning to anything if you look deep enough. Sometimes I accidentally do that and find things that weren't there in the first place, but I don't think I did that here.

There really is so much I could say. The characters all have their own charm, the way relationships and conversations flow feels so natural, and the art itself is real cute. It actually makes me so mad how little recognition this gets, because I've played probably hundreds of vns from how long I've had itch, and compared to way more popular vns/yan vns I've played, this is the best one I've found. Definitely my favorite. It's so deep and intimate, the type of game I was searching for in others and never found until now.

Okay whoa whoa whoa, I'm utterly IMPRESSED (Also in love with the fact there is no IA here)

From the story to- EVERYTHING, even if just have one ending done, everything was well written and impressive enough that I couldn't really tell what was going to be the finale result, that this isn't just gore and kills, but a well structured relate, my congrats pal, amazing game <3

(sorry if this is messy, English is not my first lenguage and its my first comment ever) I've played so many visual novels before and i can totally say that this one is my favorite of all time.

GOD I struggle so much with E3 and 4, when i finally did it I was so happy, I love all the dialoges, the writing, how it was covered the face of Jane and Owen until the end, and that they didn't have any color on them. I LOVE HOW HE IS A NORMAL PERSON WITH OTHERS and even when he is not he has a reason, he is not rude with mc friend nor enyone who talk to them (smth that happens a lot in other visual novels, usually with yanderes but its normal for the gender i guess) and it's not weird either.

Another thing I love is no matter what we choose in the end, its always him, it'll always be him and the MC loves him so much, everything is so well written and explained, there is nothing left to doubt. Such a great work and bautifull characters <3.

Aaaah, I love how Chaoxiang slowly seeps into the MC’s life like a poison, and how she descends into it as well. They’re both creatures of loneliness, which I think explains his initial attraction to her. Love it T__T (Honestly, I was struggling with E3 & E4 until I saw one of your replies haha).

Hi! This was GREAT. Loveloveloooove the writing and the pacing of this - not to mention the art and the stlystic choices. It was exactly as long as it needed to be.

Chao is very charming and very easy to like, even though you know the crazy is coming soon. It felt veeery easily to fall into MC's place, haha.

Maybe it is due to my inexperience with the genre, since i only played some of the most popular games in the Crazy Guy Who Wants You Bad category, but it is EXTREMELY satisfying to finally see an MC who can match ML's freak, without some crazy brainwashing  going on. I love these kinds of stories the most. Safe to say, E4 is definitely my favorite!

Good game but ending three lowk pmo cus i didnt like how the mc was such a bird like  bitch how are you picking some random guy you just met over your childhood friend?? like i know they werent that close at the time but damn atleast report chao.

This game so far has been amazing!! (though i haven't played much of it yet lol) The only issue is i have no sound effects or music for some reason? I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but I've tried messing around with the games sound settings as well as my own, as well as, redownloading the game again and still got nothing. PLEAASEEE let me know how to fix this because what i did play got me hooked!!! T^T

EDIT: loll i figured it out. i'm not sure how i fixed it, but it eventually fixed itself ig.

I usually don't comment on VN's  (I actually never did before now...) but I genuinely need to express how much I love this visual novel. 

This was incredibly well written and all the characters felt so human in their own way. 

I write reviews for myself of VN's I play and despite writing  at least of few hundred words for Loving Decays, I couldn't find a single thing I didn't like about it. 

My English isn't the best but in short this VN is absolutely awesome!! <3

Made an account specifically to praise this game and the creator. This Visual Novel fills such a special niche in the library of games I've played and known over the years. The tension is expertly crafted, the pacing and dialogue feel fresh and real, and the story is layered and full of life (and death). Every decision feels thoughtful and grounded. I adore the romantic lead so much, both for his design and the multifaceted endings we can achieve. Each path we can take with the relationship feels tender and meaningful, as though we really lived the life of the player character. I also love the artwork, which is both simple and effective. The backgrounds blend well and the sprites and CGs are beautiful and special. I really can't say enough good things about this game. I wish it had a thousand more hours of content. Thank you for making this, truly. Thank you for the mystery and the love story, thank you for a MC who is on the same level as our beloved unhinged ML. I don't think any other VN is as special to me as this one. I hope the creator feels very proud of this and continues to pursue their passions. I know I will continue to love this game forever!

I absolutely love everything about this game, the writing, detail, ESPECIALLY the artstyle , i was on the grind for hours trying to get each ending, genuinely it was so worth it, i really loved each ending, each sprite, literally everything!! I beg that this game recieves more recognition, and hopefully more art !!

love love love this! The endings were all honestly great, but i especially loved ending 4 <3 I was enthralled the whole game, I couldn’t stop till I finished it!

This is my first time leaving a comment on a game in my life, because omg. I want to erase my memories and experience this game for the first time again because there's no way this was free or real 😭 I feel like my jaw was just dropped for most of the playthrough. Play ALL the endings y'all!!  You will not regret it. I hope you can make more games in the future (or a cute little DLC... 😳)  because WOW. You are so talented. This was such a beautiful experience 🥹 

as someone in the mortuary field this was such an exciting game for me to play and it really lived up to that excitement! I was surprised by some of the accuracy about the field as well so it really was such a nice lil treat for me :)) I love Chao <3

Totally loved playing through the game!! The story was super engaging and Chao was a delight to learn about. I love how you connected the roles of both the mortician and the curator together. Despite their varying differences, they both work to preserve and showcase the deceased/the past in its prime state, and I think that's something Chao connected to very early on. Even after finishing all of the endings, I still want to know more about him because he's such an interesting character. Thank you for the hard work <3

It's been a few days and I totally forgot to write something because it was like 5 in the morning, but THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!! (๑>ᴗ<๑) The writing is fantastic because each ending clarifies each other, but also explains into other details from the story itself!! The art for all the characters is so lovely and just immerses you more!! I also recall being scared at some point because of how the story was progressing and totally thought I was gonna be jump scared (Also factoring me playing in the dark lolol)  Chaoxiang Chen, the man that you are!!! I'm so in love with him it's not even funny. Call me a pervert, but I want him to keep putting down everything he's got for me because I'm into it!! [I sound crazy (•́⍜•̀) ]

i dont usually enjoy yandere type characters because ive had stalking experiences in real life, but the horror angle here makes it able for me to enjoy since it doesnt feel romanticized too much. i like that the text plainly states that something about chao is wrong and unsettling, even when the character in their head expresses an attraction to him. it makes it feel layered and i appreciate that.

what i wanted to ask was, howd you get the idea for this story? how long did it take you to put this game together? did you have to learn how to from scratch and how DID you do it? i dream of making vns myself one day but know nothing about coding haha.... but im hopeful that i could learn it if i know where to start, if coding is necessary for vn making.

I loved the color palette of this novel!! There were moments when I really didn't know who to trust, and that made the story even more captivating.

And I have to say: I never expected to encounter such strange fetishes XD

 Several times I found myself thinking, "What did I just read?", but honestly, it made it even more fun and entertaining ;3!!

This game in genuinely BEAUTIFUL.... coming from someone who is wanting to be a future forensic pathologist and is obsessed with the human body in many different ways... loved da game, Chao's pink lil self and the story!!1! 

THIS GAME IS SO UNBELIEVABLY GOOD. oh my I'm so unbelievably addicted.  the pacing is absolutely amazing; the built-up uncertainty, affection, and trust are so nerve-racking and immersive.  the writing is absolutely phenomenal. the DINNER SCENE AND EVERYTHING LEADING UP TO THE 4TH ENDING WAS EVERYTHING TO ME.  i haven't enjoyed a vn like this in such a long time. i THANK YOU WITH MY SOUL FOR THE CREATION OF THIS MASTERPIECE.
