“I wrongly put words into people’s mouths, when I should have presented them as paraphrases. In some cases, it reflected my interpretation of their words. That was not just careless – it was wrong,” Vandermeersch wrote in a Substack post headlined “I am admitting my mistake”.

Yikes. I backup to a local PBS VM too, but I’m passing the NVMe controller through as a PCI device and it works with no issues. I do also backup to the cloud and an external SSD, I’m not just trusting my proxmox host

I guess there are other people contributing still, but the github page is just a mirror, issues can’t be reported there or anything.
civAto Technology@lemmy.world•The Internet, Reinvented. Introduction to Reticulum.English1·27 days agoYeah, that’s a fair point, I’m just wary of sinking time into using a project with a single developer, a hazy future and no way of reporting issues. I don’t blame them for not providing that level of support, of course, but I’d rather stick to projects that are more mature or have more resources behind them.
Edit: I see there’s actually been a number of different contributors, but based on the tone of the announcement in Dec, I just don’t think it’s something I would want to rely on
civAto Technology@lemmy.world•The Internet, Reinvented. Introduction to Reticulum.English342·27 days agoThe sole developer isn’t actively supporting Reticulum anymore:
“The software remains available for use as-is. Occasional updates may appear at unpredictable intervals, but there will be no support, no responses to issues, no discussions, and no community management in this or any other public venue. If it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work. That is the entire extent of available troubleshooting assistance I can offer you.”
I self-host audiobookshelf, and it’s working pretty well for me. It doesn’t have tons of features, and the android app is a bit janky, but it does what I need and I’m happy with it.
I still get your point. Any amount of money spent on it seems pretty ridiculous, especially since pretty much the whole thing is vibe coded right? 🫠
The article says 14.8 billion is how much Meta paid to acquire Scale AI, not Moltbook. The financial details of Moltbook’s acquisition aren’t disclosed.
