More dangerous and selfish behaviour from drivers.

For those outside the UK “lollipop woman” is someone assigned to a pedestrian crossing outside schools in high vis and usually with a big “stop” sign (the lollipop). Absolutely no way a driver could not see them.

In the US we call them “Crossing Guards”.

“Lollipop woman” makes less sense but is way more fun to say

The US needs more whimsy. “Crossing guard” just sounds way too formal

What sort of psychopath will see a crossing with children and a lolipop and think “ohh i can definitely go through it”?

Obviously drivers cannot be trusted, even with crossing guards trying to protect children. Going to have to install permanent bollards to prevent motor vehicle traffic. The UK loves to claim to keep children safe, right?

The punishments listed were points off their license and mandatory speed courses. does that not seem a bit light? Not sure what the equivalent laws would be but knowingly endangering people with a dangerous weapon seems like it should get more response
