This is a place for you to share yours, and occasionally others, political hot takes! These can be simple opinions, rants, some basic perspectives, or called shots (things you think will happen in the future).

It is also okay for you to post/ share other perspectives or opinions, but as a matter of debate, as the OP, the assumption will be made that you agree with the hot take.

Text, video, images, and memes are all perfectly valid ways to communicate. Additional formats will considered on an editorial basis.

The (soft) components of a hot take:

Hot takes should focused on one idea or opinion, and that opinion should be clear. Hot takes with a bit of hair are fine, but no shaggy dogs.
Hot takes should be as long as they need to be to communicate the idea, but no longer.
We ask you keep text posts between 250-500 words, and video posts less than 2 minutes.
As OP, there is an expectation that you’ll be present to defend the hot take.
Components 1-5 are soft aspects of a political opinion. These are not hard and fast rules.

Jokes are okay, but don’t intentionally harass or disturb any member of our community. Sexism, racism and bigotry are not allowed. Good faith argumentation only. Understand the principal of charity and use it. No posts discouraging people to vote or shaming people for voting. No misinformation

Stay on target

Pointless rants do not qualify as political hot takes. Relevance to politics is required. No bots, spam or self-promotion
