In my opinion, one too many Eevees. Vaporeon, Jolteon, Umbreon, and Espeon are solid choices, but you don’t need two fire types, and Flareon sucks ass. Not worth wasting your one fire stone on him.

I take her point, but man, way to ruin a solid one-liner with moralizing.

pjwestinto science•China Is Rapidly Overtaking the United States as the World's Scientific SuperpowerEnglish63·11 days agoWho knew that taking funding for scientific research away from government institutes and universities and giving it to ketamine-addicted con men would have negative consequences.
It feels more like a 20% chance when you’re using it, and a 95% chance when you’re trying to get through Mount Moon.
They’re using Supersonic, which has a 55% accuracy rate. They learn Confuse Ray later on, which has a 100% accuracy rate.
No problem. And, to be fair, this study is only 8 years old, so it’s very possible Cracked was citing the prevailing scientific theory at the time.
This theory is called the, “obstetrical dilemma,” and it’s been mostly debunked.

pjwestinto Not The Onion•Woman who wrote children's book about grief found guilty of murdering husbandEnglish12·22 days agoShe was also convicted of other felonies, including attempted murder for trying to poison her husband weeks earlier on Valentine’s Day with a fentanyl-laced sandwich that made him black out.
Look, I don’t want to blame the victim here, but I probably wouldn’t let my wife make me a cocktail if she once gave me a sandwich so strong I blacked out.
Oh, I guess that’s just Massachusetts. Here you’re required to pay time-and-a-half for federal holidays and, for some industries, Sundays. I knew that Sunday-pay was state law, but I assumed federal holiday pay was required by federal law.
If it’s a federal holiday, employers are forced to give you time-and-a-half, which makes smaller businesses much more likely to close for the day (and large corporations much more likely to understaff and fuck over the people who do work that day).
To be fair, he announced a big push on Civil Rights just a few months before he was assassinated. It’s possible he wouldn’t have had the juice to get it passed, and that his assassination is the only reason Johnson got it passed, but Kennedy was certainly taking action.
These colors do, in fact, run.
pjwestinto politics •John Fetterman says Iran girls’ school strike is just a leftist craze10·27 days agoIf the Democrats were a functioning opposition party, they would have forced Fetterman out when his staffers started reporting his erratic behavior. But Chuck Schumer needs Senators to, “go against him,” and thwart any legitimate opposition the party can muster, so we let this brain damaged, mentally ill man occupy one of fhe highest positions of power in the nation.
pjwestinto United States | News & Politics@lemmy.ml•Epstein Files Interest Drops 95% as US-Israel Strikes on Iran Dominate Headlines4·29 days agoThat’s a dumb way to frame this. “My interest in resolving my crippling debt dropped 95% when I set my house on fire!” Well, creating and imminent crisis doesn’t make your other problems go away.
Schumer’s gonna pass the SAVE act so he can pass Iran War funding, isn’t he?
LOL, I’m very tired right now and read, “book checkpoint,” and thought, “…do they mean a fucking bookmark?”
I feel you, but honestly, with this administration, who fucking knows what will happen. The Secretary of Defense is an alcoholic, the President is sundowning, and JD Vance appears to already be in hiding. This might end with our unconditional surrender to the next Ayatollah after we lose a ground invasion.
A reminder that Biden’s Justice Department moved too slowly to prosecute Trump because they were more concerned with optics than election interference. And that Schumer and Jefferies slow-walked the war powers resolution that would have prevented the Iran war. And that Schumer let Senate Democrats end the shutdown fight, even though public opinion was in their side.
