They could but why, Linux is free. If companies pay an enterprise fee it’s to have a support contract to be able to escalate critical bugs but it’s not necessary.
When the big organizations are the one telling people to get into something it’s to help keep wages depressed.
This is one I am actually ok with. For many companies, the we can’t find anyone that can do this work is just an excuse for we can’t find anyone who will work for a low wage. It gives the company more leverage, your ability to stay in this country is tied to your employment.
There should be a higher burden of proof to show you can’t find the talent.
Why is it when regular people do something illegal they face massive fines or completely upend their lives possible for years, But those in power are simply told to please stop for now?

It feels to me that as fruits and vegetables are engineered for fast growing, longevity, and visual appeal that taste has dropped.
Meanwhile all the ultra processed foods also focus on packing in an absurd amount of taste and things like mouth feel for maximum addict-ability.
