Westkust. Found them through Keep Driving, loved them, looked them up, and was super disappointed to learn they broke up. At least there’s Makthaverskan with some of their ex-members and a similar sound.

Can’t agree more, this is so true. My life was utter shit until 26. I was sure it would stay shit forever, because there was no reason something would get better.
Then I had to move to another country. This decision was forced by life events but it ended up being the best decision in my life. I had to “grow up”, learn how to work in an alien environment. I had to understand what I wanted from myself. I had to improve myself a lot. I’ve also met so many great people, had so many new experiences, and while I’m in a downturn right now, I am better than I ever was back then. Like you, I also feel a bit bad I missed out on some of the “fun” stuff from my 20s but in the end, my life experience got me to this point and I enjoy being here.
Growing up and figuring yourself out is the best.
I haven’t tried it yet since I can’t bother to switch from Trakt but I will eventually — Popfeed. It’s an alternative built on ATProto, that Bluesky thing.
Got it. Not really a big deal, but I’m a bit curious what changed since it worked before.
Odd. It’s Pixel 8a running Android 17 Beta 2. Here’s a recording of what I mean so there’s less confusion. The second transition (transparent one) works as it supposed to, I included it as a reference that some transitions do work.
But anyway, this is a super insignificant issue that doesn’t affect my use, so if you can’t reproduce it then it doesn’t really matter.
My bad, I’ve tested a bit more and only the animation that plays when you close a post and go back to feed has this issue, all others are fine.
I think something broke with the predictive back animation, it used to follow my finger but now it jumps straight into the max position and stays there.
Though I am running Android 17 Beta 2 so that could be the reason it broke.
I never managed proper training with the correct hands positioning so my hands are a bit all over the place. But years of Twitter, Reddit and online gaming (yeah, I was that type for some time) helped a lot so now I can type fairly quickly in both QWERTY and ЙЦУКЕН.
Workers and Resources is pretty janky and it’s really unfortunate because the premise of the game is so interesting but it just doesn’t work in practice. I also played a lot of it in Early Access but dropped it hoping it would get better with time. Turns out it’s just as janky after 1.0 release.
I guess Apex Legends could be a game I fell out of love with, a couple of years back. I don’t even know why, I enjoyed the mechanics and the level design but something stopped clicking for me. Maybe I just got burned out on it.

I think it’s the same as Celsius/Fahrenheit, you’re just more used to it this way and none is better than the other.
Obviously this doesn’t apply to metric/imperial, imperial makes no sense, so don’t consider me an apologist for imperial lol

nawato PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Valve bows to Kremlin: LGBTQ+ solitaire game [Flick Solitaire] pulled from russian Steam [cited a 2006 federal law prohibiting the "promotion of non-traditional sexualities"]English5·4 months agoYou couldn’t buy a Pixel in Russia even before the sanctions.
Google did pause most of their Russian business. They don’t pay YouTube creators, don’t allow Google Play purchases, and while Google Workspace is available, it’s only with a non-Russian payment method. All the free online stuff is available same as before. They don’t comply with Roskomnadzor’s requests for content takedowns as far as I know (I might be wrong since I moved out of Russia and stopped paying close attention to it).
But in the end, it all comes down to business. Apple sells their devices through “unofficial retailers” that were pretty official before sanctions. They have a much stronger business presence there. Google doesn’t, and they don’t have as much to lose so they can afford this PR stunt. I’m certain that if Google’s Russian business was stronger, they wouldn’t be so uncompromising.
nawato Games@sh.itjust.works•After Its Disastrous Launch, Cities: Skylines 2 Changes DevelopersEnglish2·5 months agoWell, using pre-release builds was still a decision by CO. While I understand the decision, it is risky, and the risk didn’t pay off this time.
nawato Games@sh.itjust.works•After Its Disastrous Launch, Cities: Skylines 2 Changes DevelopersEnglish6·5 months agoI’m not too hopeful. The new devs’ portfolio doesn’t make it seem like they have enough experience to handle a big project like this.
It’s sad because while Colossal Order definitely messed up the launch (though I’m still unsure whether it’s their fault or Paradox — probably both), they knew what makes city builders good. I feel like two years in, they’ve finally handled all the faults of the base game, and were ready to build upon it and release new content.
I have to be optimistic because, like I said, the base game is now pretty good to build upon, but the new devs don’t inspire confidence.
Nice.
