The first one is a great example of an outlier situation happening before and there being a rule which explicitly describes what happened:
“a catch is legal if the ball is finally held by any fielder, even though juggled, or held by another fielder before it touches the ground. Runners may leave their bases the instant the first fielder touches the ball.”
The obstruction one just reminds me of when someone learns a new word and then tries to use it every chance they get, except it’s an umpire trying to force a fairly obscure rule.
I assume you could use the google “site” boolean to search within a specific instance.
For example, starting your search with:
site:lemmy.worldAnd then add a space plus your search terms to give something like:
site:lemmy.world how to searchThat would limit the search to indexed results appearing in the lemmy.world domain.
I have no idea how often any given instance is indexed by google’s crawlers…
Huxto Civil Religion@lemmy.dbzer0.com•U.S. Troops Were Told Iran War Is for “Armageddon,” Return of Jesus5·1 month agoThese calls have one damn thing in freaking common; our MRFF clients [service members who seek MRFF aid] report the unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains as to how this new “biblically-sanctioned” war is clearly the undeniable sign of the expeditious approach of the fundamentalist Christian “End Times" as vividly described in the New Testament Book of Revelation.
Many of their commanders are especially delighted with how graphic this battle will be zeroing in on how bloody all of this must become in order to fulfill and be in 100% accordance with fundamentalist Christian end of the world eschatology.
See? This is the kind of French motivational pep talk we need! Thank you, France!
Darn, France said “no”. They were so helpful back in our first revolution…
At this point, the ongoing “No Kings” protests just prove to the fascists in charge that they have nothing to fear from peaceful opposition showing up in large numbers.
The protests aren’t just ineffective, they actively embolden the administration by demonstrating that no real opposition exists.
The French are better at protest and revolution—we need their help.
Huxto politics •White House announces radical new plan to allocate tariff revenue without Congress11·6 months agoWhat an adorable way to destroy democracy.
Trump states he will direct money towards an important program (which anyone would have to be a monster to argue it isn’t deserving of funding), by subverting a core principle laid out in the constitution which ensures another check and balance on executive powers.
His MAGA snowflake army will cheer his amazing heart and empathy while he establishes a precedent for future appropriations of his own illegal slush fund.
Bro is just speed running his Emperor Palpatine quest…

Huxto News•McDonald's is promising 'attention to affordability' after the price of Big Mac meals hits $1818·2 years agoI had a crazy-busy day about 2-months ago and found myself hitting up a McDonald’s drive-thru for an order of fries just to tide me over for the drive home.
I didn’t pay attention to the pricing—it was only fries—and when I got to the window I handed them a five, fully expecting a couple of bucks in change.
The attendant just looked at me. I laughed as I realized a regular order of fries was more than five-bucks.
And yet, I STILL am hard pressed to believe a Big Mac meal is currently $18…
