My decision to buy a top end card for my 2019 base build PC in Q4 2025, Quickly spiraled into a panic buy of a full stack of new computer parts.

I calculated it last night. I spent about $4000 CAD in 2019 on my build then, which was high end for the time (tack on another 3000 or so in upgrades through its life, 16>32 RAM then switching it out for 64gb, 2070 > 3080 > 5080, and at least one SSD addition)

I havent even built it yet and I’ve spent like 6800 CAD on my next PC, I didnt plan on making the switch until Q4 2026 when my ESU Windows 10 expired but the rampocalypse and everything-pocalypse has forced my hand into buying now at bad prices, instead of buying later at worse.

I wouldnt have even lifted a finger if It wasn’t for the fact that my machine is so old, its stable but for how long?

  • The MAGA administration is setting things up so that they can never lose power again, a’la a coup. (Or I guess they call it a reverse coup?) the rubicon may have already been crossed and you may have to shoot your way out of it

Im not holding any faith that it changes. the whole point of moves that fascists make, is that by the time you realize you have to fight, its already fait accompli, checkmate, already too late.

  • thats the crux of the problem.

we are NOT the same country. we have similar culture and values, similar, but not the same.

there are some things that Canadians firmly choose the Red door on, where Americans chose the Blue door.

those fundemental differences is what makes us a seperate country. there are many things we are on the same page of, but there are many things we might as well be cats and dogs on as well.

You dont have to look back very far to determine how this started on a low level, this is just aggresive inaappropriate counter-culture , 4chan internet troll, basement dwelling shitheel behaivor from the 90s and 00s but carried over into adult life

Contrarians will always be contrary, so I guess being contrary to a boring “regime” that didnt particularly say or do anything except for ask for generic human rights for everyone, means cosplaying as the most offensive thing you can think of because it makes them mad, Cosplaying as Nazis and even doing the same thing the Nazis did with randomly and incorrectly co-opting norse iconography.

  • I was never raised Christian due to my family being a mix of Catholics and Protestants who had all mostly given up on church going cept forbguberals and weddings…

The only exposure I ever gad to the Bible was reading comics of a Lego rendition of it called the brick testament. (Its actually creatively genius)
