BlackLaZoRto Technology•1 In 5 Boys Know Someone Their Age Who's In A Relationship With An AI ChatbotEnglish1·2 hours agoWell, anonymous chatbot won’t cancel you and it won ruin your life out of pure spite.
No wonder this is a thing
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish1·13 hours agoNo, by design, you have as close as possible to raw metal on one of the electrodes when battery is fully charged. That’s the chemistry behind it - its moving metal between oxidation states. When it burns down, it also moves to higher oxidation states. Volatility is baked in. Usually you have lithium in carbon matrix that acts as physical sponge. But that’s just raw lithium in a sponge. It will still burn like hell.
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish101·16 hours agoNot as rapidly as lithium batteries. From firefighting perspective this is much uglier case. Bonus issue: unlike gasoline, you can’t extinguish it reliably - it has to burn out on its own
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish14·17 hours agoVery relevant for firefighters who have to deal with lithium and sodium fires.
BTW: Explosion in case of lithium is indirect since you need a hydrogen buildup first. In case of sodium plus water it goes boom almost instantly
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish132·17 hours agoExcept the fact that batteries burn extremely rapidly. In case of fire you have seconds to open the door and help the driver/passaners escape out of the vehicle
BlackLaZoRto Showerthoughts•when robots have all the jobs, who's gonna buy all the stuff?1·21 hours agoI was born in 1977 in Yugoslavia
Then I guess you forgot what kind of shit hole it was back then, and what kind of progress happened since the fall of communism in europe
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish501·22 hours agoExcept ones with no handles. You’re supposed to burn alive in these.
BlackLaZoRto Technology•'It doesn’t catch fire': Why China’s "fireproof" sodium battery could be the breakthrough that makes EVs safer than ICE carsEnglish419·22 hours agoTechnically correct.
Sodium blows up when exposed to water.
In short, yes. They’re way smarter then you give them credit for.
From my observations they hate being watched as much as you do. If you look ostensibly at one for too long they’ll fly away.
And don’t think birds don’t see you. They have way better distance sight with multiple macula (high resolution spots on retina). If he looks straight at you, at ~45 angle or at 90 degree angle, it’s very likely he looks at you specifically.
BlackLaZoRto Technology•Developer of VeraCrypt encryption software says Windows users may face boot-up issues after Microsoft locked his accountEnglish1·1 day agoIt is if you want to move drive between windows and Linux machines
BlackLaZoRto Technology•Developer of VeraCrypt encryption software says Windows users may face boot-up issues after Microsoft locked his accountEnglish5·1 day agoAnother reason to install Linux and be done with this shit.
I recommend starting with Fedora KDE, and delving to anything else later…

Not because it’s so smart, but because it’s so fucking stupid, and morons from Anthropic just click buttons without checking.
BlackLaZoRto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Scam Altman says it’ll take another year before ChatGPT can start a timer. An $852 billion company, ladies and gentlemen.15·1 day agoYou can’t expect it to measure time if it doesn’t have an internal clock. I’m sure it could be done if you give LLM necessary tools and system prompt
BlackLaZoRto Showerthoughts•Inside you there are two wolves. One is how much cops suck. The other is how funny it is to watch sovereign citizens get arrested.20·1 day agoNah. I like when criminals are arrested by competent cops.
If cops suck it’s a sign of deeper systemic issue. There’s entire chain of training and discipline that fails behind a shitty police force
you were conditioned into that
Better. My parents were born in it. My grandparents live through it, and I spend my childhood in ruined economy after this garbage has been abolished. If you played Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, this was my childhood IRL. (Stadium with illegal weapons and software included). Even with access to EU common market and EU infrastructure subsidies it took two decades before this place became worth living in.
You get a hard-on hating communism like some who hate blacks or muslims, you were conditioned into that. Rich western white people tend to do that.
You are a fucking child, and haven’t seen a jack shit in your life.
BlackLaZoRto Showerthoughts•Negativity in social media is probably why some people prefer to talk to LLM bots2·1 day agoI’d say it’s more because finding quality people IRL is so difficult these days
BlackLaZoRto Showerthoughts•when robots have all the jobs, who's gonna buy all the stuff?1·2 days agoAnd don’t get me started on raping the environment
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_issues_in_Russia
Many of the issues have been attributed to policies that were made during the early Soviet Union, at a time when many officials felt that pollution control was an unnecessary hindrance to economic development and industrialization
By the 1990s, 40% of Russia’s territory began demonstrating symptoms of significant ecological stress, largely due to a diverse number of environmental issues, including deforestation, energy irresponsibility, pollution, and nuclear waste.[2] According to Russia’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Russia is currently warming 2.5 times faster than the rest of the globe
This thing haunts me every few months since always. You can usually stop it by exhaling deeply and relaxing muscles in affected areas.
