Not all autocrats are bad, but it allows for too much bad behaviour generally to be acceptable, and humans are going to human all over it. Ghadafi was generally liked by his people because he provided for them and/but punished his enemies harshly. Western interests didn’t like him because he would not let their corruption come in and control their resources. End of story. Not saying he was a good person, but he was def a decent head of state. Unlike some orange faced buffoon.

  • That time is used by the ground crew to prepare the plane for the flight and go over safety systems. Planes can’t just land and takeoff again immediately. Things can go wrong, and you can’t pull over in the air. Sometimes those delays are mechanical, and some times those delays are shift changes, bad crew scheduling/staffing levels. Airports are pretty fucking efficient over all. From the planes flying people around perspective, not the human shuffling element. We are just cattle to them after all.

I don’t see a problem? State funded infrastructure has a place and purpose in our society. It’s built for function over form. Wonderful architecture is incredibly expensive and amounts to mostly fluff. If you would try to build civic infrastructure focusing on pomp and grandeur over functionality, you would not last long in the public sphere.
