Time sinks are fine if they are reasonable to game play. Majority of the they are not hence time consuming. In Tony Hawk’s you run out of stuff to do long before Level 100, then it ends up being a grind.

To be fair I wait until after release to pick-up titles, will get FFXVI this weekend. Such a small cost, the risk is fine vs people spending thousands on other hobbies.

Basically same boat a lot of smaller gaming communities haven’t moved here. Also Combat Footage and Ukraine don’t seem to be moving here enough to keep me off Reddit.

How does that work? Some emails are just for setting up access to things and are never used. Like gaming accounts, verification purposes etc. You would lose access to stuff you regularly use because you can’t verify.

This would mean losing parts of your internet identity.

Hanging on by a thread

Streaming fell apart quickly, it’s so hard to find anything decent on most of them. It’s become clear they can’t curate new content as readily.

Everything is falling down:

• Google is dropping Reddit and Twitter from their searches.
• Twitter is throttling Tweets and you have to signin to view anything. Which would be crazy antivaxxer radicals, so not missing anything. No more free API use.
• YouTube is blocking you after 3 videos if you use an adblocker.
• Reddit has killed all 3rd party apps among API changes
• Now Gfycat is going, man that’s like most of the sites I used since a kid. Imgur seems to be around still at least.

And Pinterest. I want my quality searches back.

Yeah, I’m still torn between the old subs and lemmy. Most communities aren’t active or created here yet.

This is actually sounds better than I thought, didn’t think volunteers were helping this much. Everything else seems spoton from what the UA has found in abandoned Russian positions. It should be noted they’re using expired stuff from the Cold War era.
