I tried out a growing Reddit alternative, Lemmy, for a week, and its clear that federated apps aren't ready to replace Reddit yet.

    It does read like their expectations were way too high. But they are right that this isn鈥檛 casual user friendly yet. I do hope we get there, I鈥檇 like this place to stay active.

      It took me about a week to grasp the basics of Lemmy and the fediverse. I enjoy the communities and feel like a lot of the comments are more engaging and useful. Hopefully, those big content creators will make the switch, if they haven鈥檛 already. Meanwhile, I鈥檒l continue to try and do my part to be the change I want to see.
