Okay, you’ve hinted that it’s a possible game, and forced me to watch a video to prove it. And all the video shows is that it’s possible to put the symbols down on the board so that they end up like that, as long as O goes first. All the while, both sides passing up winning moves. They even call it something like a “nonsense game” in the video.

I already knew that it was possible to put the symbols down like that. Everybody knew the symbols could be put down like that.

Sorry, you’ve both missed and got the point. My question wasn’t about whether a human hand is physically capable of placing an ‘O’ in a specific square. I linked to that video because that game makes no sense. The video answers my question; this end game could arise only through extreme stupidity.

Here was your description of the video:

“How could a game of tic-tac-toe reach this end state?”

I think most people would interpret to mean, “When you look at the board, you’ll initially think it’s nonsense, but this link will explain how it makes sense in a real game.” (Because nobody would wonder about reaching the end state unless they already suspected it was nonsense.)

You could have alternatively explicitly introduced the video by saying something like, “This tic-tac-toe game makes no sense. Here is a video explaining why.”

My comment was intended to give context so that others wouldn’t watch the video with the wrong idea about what was in it. It’s one thing to click on a link to a normal web page and be disappointed about its contents, but a video actually takes time to watch.
