because voters don’t want to, or they’d vote for someone else. 1/2 of them stupidly think one day they’ll be wealthy and want the same largesse shown. Never underestimate the power of vast numbers of stupid people.

A recent article in the FT (UK) about the Green’s policy to add a 1% and 1.5% tax on the very wealthy (to call that tax modest is an understatement) The article literally talked of a scandalous over taxation of the wealthy.

Because the politicians are bought and sold by the ultra rich and will never serve the needs of the people

Not countries, perhaps their politicians and those who bribe them

They might move and stop not-paying taxes.

But if you get rid of the ultra rich then politicians will have no one to serve but themselves!
