So what do we do when these companies are all just AI talking to each other and AI creating content for AI to ingest and then make AI comments that other AI comments back on?
This whole thing is just getting comical. Every night I become more and more convinced the next great depression has arrived.
I‘m using this social network without the internet. It‘s basically happening in these places called „Pubs“ and „Clubs“ (which are like facebook groups) where you can chat with others with the same interest. You can even watch movies together and create art. Amazing stuff.
By then they will implement ID verification, so at least advertisers and data brokers will know who is real. Everybody else will be living in a simulated social network where all your “friends” and associates really want you to buy the new Gucci x McDonalds slides. Without them you’re a chopped jester verging on UNC status. You can finance them with 30 easy payments of $49.69.
I watched this video yesterday. What struck me was just how bad most of the suggestions were. Without the hype surrounding AI it’s hard to imagine a company thinking this feature was ready to ship.
I also found it interesting how many of the recommendations were for DankPods to make videos trashing on the MacBook Neo, including inaccurate statements about the product. If I was Apple I would be considering legal options for one of the world’s biggest media platforms recommending content creators falsely trash Apple’s products.
Yeah agreed, the suggestions are so bad. It’s really weird to see YouTube embrace AI shit like that, since their platform is being swamped with AI slop. Users don’t want to watch it, advertisers don’t want to be shown on them and those “creators” have zero commitment for the platform. They do however have all of the costs parsing and storing those videos, indexing them into the search engine etc.
It’s really shocking how bad all of the AI stuff I’ve seen is. Am I taking crazy pills? This shit sucks ass. People who don’t know any coding often shout how successful AI is with coding, but as someone who has worked professionally in that space for decades: It fucking sucks, it’s so bad.
